My journey behind the lens began in a darkroom, where I learned that while a great photograph can be meticulously crafted, the most powerful ones are often a simple moment captured. That balance of patience and whim has followed me across continents—from the rugged coastlines of my home country to South America, Australia, the Middle East, and beyond.
So, why "Islay"? The studio is a loving homage to two beauties in my life: one of my rescue dogs who is rarely far from my side, and my favorite region of Scotch.
But ultimately, Islay Studio is about you. After years of capturing the scale of global landscapes and the pulse of international city life, I’ve found that the most compelling subject is the one right in front of me. In every project - whether it’s a thousand-year-old ruin or a family portrait here in Texas - I am looking for the "moment" where history and heart align.
